Sartora

Sartora is finally me, Guendalina.

I wanted to give a name to what I do, not my job, my craft.

Behind Sartora there is a study, there is the story that returns, the tale of what the artisan me represents. Sartora was born from the personal and historical need to evolve, change and start again. Nine years after the birth of ‘La Tela di Penelope’, I realised how much I needed to change the vision that others had of what I can do, and of my craft.

Tailoring
as an art form

I want people to see me in what I do and create, to stop being the seamstress who performs and become the seamstress who creates. Behind the new name there is a study and a history, rooted in the past, to what in those days was a fundamental and much more widespread figure: the Tailor and/or the Sartora.

I would like to revive L’Antica Sartoria in a modern key.

Ancient Modern Tailoring

My desire to make known and understand the value of one of the Trades that most represents the Italian Handicraft in the world: Tailoring, is a primary objective, along with the desire to give my vision of dressing more contemporary.

The Sartora
handicraft factory

You will find my garments, designed and sewn by me or the result of collaborations with other craftswomen. However, I strongly wanted to welcome the work of other craftspeople, especially accessories, into my shop so that I could offer my customers the opportunity to complete the outfit and enhance my creations.

Dressing with style
your personality

I strongly believe that those who choose Sartora and an artisanal product expect to find a bit of themselves in it. Building a relationship of trust and sincere exchange is fundamental to enriching what must be an experience without reducing everything to the merits of a sale.
